The March 11 update brought a number of weapon balancing changes to Black Ops 6, but a buff to one of the shooter’s most frustrating weapons could completely ruin small maps.
Black Ops 6 has a massive roster of powerful weapons, all of which fit a different purpose and playstyle. These range from Assault Rifles, ideal for mid-range fights, to Shotguns, which can delete enemies if they stray too close.
But over the seasons, Treyarch has released a number of more gimmicky weapons, from an underbarrel crossbow to every Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s signature weapon. The newest, and most annoying, is the D1.3 Sector, which flings shard blades to kill you in one hit.

The update focuses on the D1.3’s Ricochet Blade as the devs felt there weren’t enough cases where the ammo type, which lets you bounce blades off walls and around corners, was useful.

Previously, players had to choose between damage and the ability to deflect shots off different surfaces, so you could either kill with a straight-ahead shot that required precise accuracy, or wreak havoc by firing them blindly into tight spaces but needing multiple hits for a kill.

Shorty after the patch went live, matches on Stakeout instantly became overrun with players spamming the weapon, sending blade after blade down corridors and into small rooms to wipe teams out without ever having to step foot inside.
Black Ops 6 Zombies players are absolutely sick of this annoying enemy type

These were already the maps that favored mindless fun over strategy, but the addition of the buffed Sector made them an absolute misery thanks to sudden deaths from enemies you can’t even see.

But for those who prefer the faster pace of Stakeout and other Strike maps, you might be in for a rough time.
