Astralis have joined the race for the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 prize after winning IEM Beijing on Sunday over 100 Thieves.
The Danish giants became the fourth champion in as many Grand Slam events this season, joining Liquid, Evil Geniuses and fnatic in the heated battle for the $1 million cheque.
Of the four teams, only fnatic have not yet secured a spot at the next Grand Slam event, the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, which will be held from December 3-8 in Odense, Denmark. The Swedes will be hoping to qualify for the event via the second European group stage in which they will have to take on FaZe, Vitality and HellRaisers.
ESL decided to up the stakes for Season 3 after Liquid won the previous edition inside just 63 days. A team can still claim the $1 million prize if they win four ESL Pro Tour Masters tournaments inside a span of ten consecutive events as long as at least one of those trophies came at a Championship level competition (for 2020 these tournaments will be IEM Katowice, ESL One Cologne and any potential Major run by either ESL or DreamHack). Otherwise, teams will require six tournament victories during a window of ten events to collect the cheque.
Below you can find a list of the Intel Grand Slam Season 3 events that have been played out and the ones that are already confirmed:
